Cotswold Outdoor was founded in 1974 under the name Cotswold Camping. It was based in the Cotswolds from where the founders sold a wide range of camping equipment and accessories. Since then,
Cotswold Outdoor has been in the business of retailing outdoor clothing and equipment such as waterproof jackets, ski wear, casual clothing, base layers and footwear from the best brands in the business such as Berghaus, North Face, Lowe Alpine Salomon and Merrell.
By 2004, it began winning awards for retailing with numerous stores opening up all over the UK.
Cotswold Outdoor also won an award for its website and a very successful mail order service that sells one of the widest ranges of outdoor clothing, accessories and equipment in the UK.
Their camping equipment comprises tents, lanterns, sleeping bags, torches, and travel equipment such as rucksacks, Leki Walking Poles, GPS and luggage and climbing gear.
